Introduction
Zoho Discussions enables you to create feedback widgets and embed anywhere in your website. It provides a easy way for your customers to leave you feedback directly from your website, without having to enter your discussions portal.
You can create a feedback widget for each one of the forums in your account and include the most relevant widget in your page. All the information that are captured will automatically be routed to the applicable forum - just like any other post on your online forums and make it public. You can also choose to make it private and get it via e-mail.
Step 1: Update Basic Details
- Go to Settings > Integrations section.
- Click on Feedback Widgets tab from the left side menu.
- In the Basic Details section, specify the following details:
- Widget Name: Enter a display name for your feedback form.
- Default Topic Type: Choose a topic type that has to be selected by default on the feedback form. See image below
Step 2: Tab Customization
Here you can customize the widget tab that appears on your website or webpage.
- Tab Alignment: Choose the tab alignment to decide the position of the tab. The given options are: Left, Right, Top, Bottom, or Hidden.
Note: If hidden, the tab customization option will completely be disabled. - Tab Color: Point your mouse on the Tab Color text-box to choose the color of your tab.
- Text Color: Point your mouse on the Text Color text-box to choose the color of the "Feedback" text. See image below
Step 3: Configure Notification Details
The final step in creating your feedback widget is to configure the notification details of your feedback widget. This allows you to decide the mode in which you would like to receive the feedback. You can choose to make the feedback public and get it posted on your forum. In addition, you can choose to make it private and get it via e-mail, according to your requirement.
- Notification Email ID: Enter the Email ID in which you would like to receive the feedback from your users.
- Receive Feedback Via : Choose the required mode from Receive Feedback Via section. The available options are:
- Email: Feedback will be sent only to the Email ID.
- Email & Forum: Feedback will be sent to both Forum and Email ID.
- Allow users to choose: If you have chosen this option, users will be provided with an option namely "Post in Zoho discussions Forum" check-box on the feedback form. They can enable/disable the check-box according to what they need.
- Mapped To: Select the applicable Forum and the Sub Forum to which the feedback should be routed.
- Click on Save to generate the widget code. See image below
Step 5: Get Widget Code
Once the widget is created, the widget code will be generated and you can copy & paste into any of your web pages, where you would like embed the feedback form.
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Feedback Widget.
This displays the list of feedback widgets created.
- Choose the feedback widget you would like to use and click on Get Widget Code link.
- Copy the HTML content and Sample Implementations link from the corresponding fields. See image below
Step 4: Email Verification
Before pasting the widget code into your webpages, you must verify your Email ID for which the Feedback widget is created.
- Go to your Mail Box
- Click the link in the verification email to confirm that you own this address.
Note: If you do not verify your Email ID, the feedback form will not be displayed to your users.
Step 6: Embed Feedback Widget
Once the Email ID is verified, your web visitors can click on the Feedback tab and submit their queries, problem etc.
