Map Portal Domain

Tags:

The Domain section allows you to configure or map your own URLs with your portal. With the help of domain mapping, your users can visit your portal at the configured domain, instead of the default URL #discussions.zoho.com. This provides intuitive access to your users and improves search engine optimization. In Zoho Discussions, there are two types of domain configurations available: Primary Domain and Secondary Domain.

Primary Domain Configuration

Primary domain is the key identifier of your portal. If you have multiple domains, you can choose a particular domain as the default domain for your portal. Zoho Discussions will re-route all users to the specified primary domain.

To configure a primary domain:

  1. Go to Settings section.
  2. Click on Domain tab under Portal settings from the left side menu.
This opens the Domain configuration page.
  3. Enter the URL that you would like to set as a primary domain in the Domain Name text box. See image below
  4. Click on Save.
    Primary domain is now configured.

Secondary Domain Configuration

The secondary domain section allows you to configure all your additional URLs with your portal. Your users can also access your community using these secondary domains.

To configure a secondary domain:

  1. Go to Settings section.
  2. Click on Domain tab under Portal settings from the left side menu.
This opens the Domain configuration page.
  3. Scroll down to the Secondary Domain section and click on Add Domain button. See image below
  4. Enter the required URL in the text box and click on Save.
  5. Follow the same procedure to add all your additional URLs.

Note: Once you have added your domains, you have to point the CNAME entry of the given URL to this IP address: 74.201.154.141
